This fibre is a renewable resource.?? Plants are cropped above ground level and can be reharvested after 3-4 years.? This fibre has been used in Himalayan papermaking for well over a thousand years.

Lokta fibre can be used in Western and Asian styles of papermaking.? Traditionally it is used for making a light weight but strong and durable paper for woodcut printing.
